Standard Speedy I use if for making my own phone ring tones from iTunes (and also sometimes for setting / remembering the date :0). I also use it for parking meters and flight times etc. I do use the 2nd time zone function on my 9300.

I think so after reading these posts. I never thought to use mine for cooking. I simply have gone by perceived time.... who knew?

Just got my first one yesterday from Kringkily; first thing I used it for was to time the roast chicken!
    Cookmaster... Oh no!!!!

I forgot to mention that I use it for this as well (in addition to what I previously mentioned). Every once in a while I will travel from the Eastern time zone to Central or Pacific for work or to visit family. It's not often enough that I feel the need for a GMT. And if I start the chronograph at 12:00 (setting an alarm on my iPhone to remind myself), then I can use the hour counter on the chronograph hand as my home time and set the main hour hand to local time. I've actually found that the chronograph is quite versatile in doing multiple functions when needed.

I use it most often for cooking and sprinkling the lawn. I love how quick and easy it is. Much better than a digital watch.

I heard they'll do it for the 3861 series. 15000 gauss: it should be able to cope with induction cooktop
Joke aside, it managed to magnetized my Reduced, so no watch when cooking anymore :(

Appart from that, I use it to time my running and my crosstraining sessions. But for the later, I'm moving to something with a flyback

I wear my watch of the day in bed. Speedmaster included. I wind a 1905 vintage Howard tower clock once each week. Whichever Speedmaster I happen to be wearing, I co-ordinate the sweep second hand and the running seconds hand to match, and set the watch to time by my time source (usually my iPad, so I have the time to the second when I go to wind the tower clock. Actually, I don’t worry too much about seconds when I time the clock as it doesn’t have a seconds hand. The old Howard runs within a minute a month, so not much concern there.

I actually use mine to time my wife getting ready when we go out to dinners or date nights. If we have an hour to get ready, for men that’s 5 minutes to shower and dress and 55 minutes to decide on what watch to wear.

However, the wife may take longer than an hour(usually does :D and it’s ok because shes the Queen), so I use my speedy to time her every time. Best case scenario because when she asks what time it is, I tell her the “Speedmaster” says she is running 15,20,30 mins late.

So technically I never tell her she is running late. It’s my watch that is telling me everything and saving my butt. Thank you Speedmaster Pro!

Nothing really. I just start it every few days and hope that it still works. Looks great though.

    Ha!

I use mine for cooking and for my day job in the medical field. Great for timing procedures!

The clicking bezel of a diver is much more dramatic to children--even if they can't tell time. When you click those clicks their look gets serious and they know the time out is official and appeals are exhausted.

That strap is a nice combination with the Speedmaster. Do you remember where you got it from?

Thanks! B&R bands. They’ve got the nicest quality for the price that I’ve come across. This one is the classic suede in gray.

Dumb question but is there an alarm on the watch?
