I apologize if this is a silly question, but is the so called "technical bezel insert" a bezel that would have been delivered with the original watch? I'm referring specifically to one appearing in the following listing for an Ed White: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Omega-Speedm...id=100033&rk=4&rkt=8&mehot=pp&sd=381907701073Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network many thanks
That is called a decimal bezel. They existed in period from Omega and I believe that an Ed White could be ordered new with those. I believe Omega offered the decimal bezel, pulsometer, telemeter, and normal tachymeter. https://omegaforums.net/threads/ome...pecial-bezel-medical-telemeter-decimal.27085/
And Ed White could be ordered with a decimal bezel, they came in three variation types T1: 1960(ish) - 1970 (ish) T2: 1970 - 1990 (ish) T3: 1990 - present day You will be able to identify which generation it is from Mateo's very informative post linked above
Correct. It seems the fonts on the original are more "squashed" relative to the insert in the one for sale.
yes, the sun is very strong. i removed the insert from the bezel and the underside was still black. watch is sold now to a collector in Queensland. kind regards. achim
