    Hi All,

I've had a Speedmaster 35705000 since 2002, and haven't worn it all that much. In the year I got back into the habit of wearing a watch every day, bought a few new (old) pieces, and took the Speedy back out of hibernation.

I've worn it a few days in the last couple of weeks, and just don't seem to be able to find a comfortable fit with the bracelet.

The Boutique at The Royal Exchange have been really good about adjusting, removing links and trying to get a good fit, but it either slops down my wrist, or after 1/2 hour of wear feels tight/sharp.

The manager there suggested that I get a strap instead, and I tried on watches with the X33 Kevlar band, and a dealer accessory NATO.

Just wondering if anyone has similar experiences, recommendations for a comfortable strap, or has fitted the Kevlar or Omega Nato straps to their Moonwatch?

    Cheers

    Chris

I have a omega calf strap that suits the speedy but it is made from very stiff leather.

I also have a few shell cordovan leather straps and it's true what they say, it really is the softest, most comfortable leather.

There are lots of online retailers with these straps, Hodinkee, Bulang and Sons etc.

A NATO is always a great, easy option for a Speedy, very cheap so you can have a few different colours also!

Have you tried a 1/2 link in the bracelet? If it has a 1998 bracelet there is a 1/2 link that will fit it.

    Cheers, Al

Well technically it isn't for the 1998 bracelet, but the 1/2 link from a 1610 bracelet (used for example on a 22545000) works fine. Part number for the 1/2 link is 115ST1610.

    Cheers, Al

I second the motion to try a leather strap with deployant clasp. Its a really comfortable way to wear the Speedmaster; looks great, feels great.

    Thanks guys, über helpful!

I might try the 1/2 link first - and see how I get on with it.
