Recenty came across a watch that is listed as a 105.0012.
As with the 145.012/145.0012 I know that the latter means a service case/caseback. However, I did not find anything regarding the 105. 00 12 - does anyone have a clue?

Omega does list this reference on its website. The watch was made between April 64 and January 65 according to "Ilovemyspeedmaster"; the seller provides the full reference of 055ST1050012/63. Dial is a stepped professional dial with applied logo.

I vote for the same thing as described above for the 145.0012 - service case back 😉

caseback looks very real. Double beveled, engraved hippo with authentic wear, marks for the case opener square and in the middle between the two bevels.

This page is so odd. Why is it listed under “Seamaster”? 😕

Maybe it is just me but I am not able to see any case back images?

Agree with @kov. Most likely the ref 105.0012 is a service case back.

Sorry- kinda new to the photo-stuff!
Agree, it’s odd that omega is speaking from the seamaster speedmaster.
However, all cal. 321 speedys are listed as “seamaster speedmasters”.
Just check this one: https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-speedmaster-professional-st-145-0012
What I find weird is: a) isn’t this the exact same picture as with the 105-0012 link above? And b) isn’t it pretty clear, that 145-0012 refers to a service case/ back?

If you think it did not get interesting enough already, take a look at this one here: https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-speedmaster-st-105-0002
picture is missing (apparently, omega lacks authentic vintage watches to take pictures of? Wondering what exactly their museum is doing...). Either they added a zero to every reference number, or it’s a model unknown to me😉.

Picture of the “ST105.0012” case back should be right here

Omega is listing the watches with their internal numbering, which has an additional 0 on these models. So they are listed as;
105.002 as 105.0002
105.003 as 105.0003
105.012 as 105.0012
145.012 as 145.0012
145.022 as 145.0022

The additional zero on the case back came firstly on case backs in early 90s.
So, if you are looking at a vintage watch and it has an additional 0 in the case back it is a service case back made after early 90s.
