Great review of the Paul Newman Daytona of Speedmasters.
Ah ah nice nickname! It suits the watch I would say! 😀

Sorry for the dumb question as am new to all of this but what was the rationale for not going with a step-dial on that model?
I guess you'll have to direct that question to Robert-Jan et al. 🤔

EDIT: on the other hand, the Alaska III didn't have a step dial, so there you go 👍

Really brings out the tool watch side of speedmaster in my opinion.

Today was an annular solar eclipse here in TX, ST1 was the choice. Have this on a walnut palmelatto racing strap from Genteel with a RM style deployant buckle from Artem. Good looking and functional.

makes me want to take my NEW321 to get the finish brushed

Eh, you really don't want to do that. Save up your pennies and buy an ST1, there are always some on C24 and they show up occasionally here on OF, that's where I got mine 3 years ago.

But the all brushed treatment, except for the Omega logos on the crown, buckle and dial, is very unique, it really looks like aluminum.

Had the same thought about brushing the case about either a 321 or a regular moonwatch 3861… in order to actually get best of both worlds 🙄

If you can match the original omega finish go ahead

That’s the tough part… finding someone able to do it perfectly.
Also am wondering if any impact on the warranty?

Ok thanks, makes sense even if I would have preferred with a step dial but that’s personal.

Another thing that maybe Robert-Jan can answer is whether they considered adding a radial bezel or decimal bezel instead of the regular one?

If they open up the watch to do it definitely yes.
