Im new to omega. Hv a couple rolexs, a predident from 1985 and a sub from 2000.

Thought id go into omega for a change, so i got this used from chrono24 vendor. Unfamiar w the strucure of an omega, i thought this was odd looking. It seems off some how, so attaching some side view shots on 4 sides. Does it look right to the experienced omega man eye? The crown parr. Is that gap standard? I still hv time to return, but i like the yellow face for a touch od piazzaz n color, so im hoping you folks can afirm

Thanks. Kim

Crown is fine, but whoever polished it was clearly drunk. Strap on the 6 o'clock side looks like it's about to tear off.

could you please elaborate on the polishing error.. Ive never sent a watch to be buffed, so educate me on the problem.

Thanks for your prompt comments..

It has been over polished. The case should have a more defined transition between the brushed case edge and the original polished section. You case has very soft lines as a result of the heavy handed polishing. Here is an example of a sharper case.

ah!! I see what you mean...

On another note,, Dials and hand movement. keep in mind im new to the tach faces. there are three small dials...the second hand,, (red one) does not move? correct, unless you engage the button at 2 o'clock, correct? and also, the small black hand in at the three o'clock dial does move at all times, correct? the bottom dial and the 9 o'clock dial do not move unless engaged by the 2 o'clock button...correct??

There is an easy tell to know which hands go together-

The three black hands tell the time. Which are the hour, minute, and running seconds (at 3 o'clock), which will continuously move as you said.

The three red hands that are used to measure time. The long red central hand is the chronograph seconds hand. This should only begin to start and stop by pressing the chronograph pusher at 2 o'clock. The pusher at 4 o'clock resets the chronograph. The small red hand at 9 o'clock measures minutes and the small red hand at 6 o'clock measures hours.

very good,, thanks for the clarity,, I like the yellow Schumacher,, just a touch of color and not too bulky,, it sure is a different feel after wearing a submariner daily for almost 2o plus years,, Intend to have the band replaced as it's not original. I will probably get another black and a yellow. I keep reaching to see if it fell off!! again, thanks for all the information

I frankly don’t see a problem based on those photos. I’m always stunned how people speak with such authority about “over polishing”. Based on the photos I can’t tell if anything has been polished at all or how close to spec the polishing is. Crown and pushers and bezel look right to me.
I personally would put it on a different wrist band.
