Speedmaster Professional Deployant

Hello everyone, new member, first post.

A couple of years ago, I bought a Speedmaster Pro (Hesalite) on a bracelet. This past weekend, I went to my local boutique and purchased the 20/16 alligator strap on deployant. The deployant seems very flat to me as most watches that I've owned had deployants with decidedly more curve to them. I was watching a video review of the clasp and noticed the one being reviewed had considerably more curve than mine as depicted in the pics below. Did Omega change the design? The first two pics are mine and the third is a screen grab from the video. Thoughts?

Could you post a part number of the deployant? At first glace, that doesn't seem right.

Wow, that is very flat. My Omega deployant buckle bought in 2017 (18mm) is curved. And one I bought in 2019 (16mm) is also well curved, like your 3rd pic. Can't believe they have changed the design to such a flat design. I'm surprised you are using a 16mm deployant on a Pro, the normal size is 20mm lug x 18mm buckle. Is your new strap 20mm at the lugs?

First pic is 16mm (STZ007387), the second is 18mm (94521833), as engraved on the buckle. And your buckle appears all polished, usual finish is satin/brushed. Just appears that buckle was not meant for a Speedmaster.

How convenient is the boutique for you? I would ask to exchange for a different example. There is a 14 day exchange policy for the OBs by me (NY, USA).

I live 3 minutes from the Scottsdale boutique. I will pop back in and have them take a look.

...Thoughts?..

I have several deployants, none of them are flat. The one you are showing looks like it was flatten by a double drum roller 😁 definitely not right. Take a look at other deployants when at the OB.

Yeah like most people here have said, that doesn't look right at all. Even the curve isn't flush when closed. Certainly looks uncomfortable...

That is not normal. Somehow that got damaged before you received it, as not only is it too flat but there's a gap at the connecting parts near the "O" sign.

Go back to the shop and get a new one, part number 94521613. They should have plenty in stock.

It does look odd / not right. I don't know the deployant part number but here is mine (311.33.42.30.01.001)

Interesting that some deployants are high polished, the two that I have bought from an OB have a brushed/satin finish. Didn't know they made two finishes.

From what I was told by the manager at the OB, the 16mm clasp (which is original to the Speedmaster Pro) is polished, whereas the 18mm version comes either all brushed or a combination of brushed/polished finish.

Interesting, when I bought my Speedmaster at the Geneve boutique in 2017 I negotiated a deployant buckle and strap as part of the deal and it was the brushed version. I wonder what the standard is on the version in the catalogue with the strap and DP buckle only?

The current Speedmaster Professional that comes on a strap has the fully polished version.

I just popped by the boutique, and we compared it to the Speedmaster in the case. Mine is definitely different. They didn't have another one in stock, so the manager ordered a replacement. Hopefully, it won't take too long. Thanks for the info and support!

The 18mm version that is all-polished 94521813. It's an accessory sale option and didn't come on the factory sets of the Speedy Pro, either in current or past guise.
Glad you got it sorted and the OB took responsibility.

I have the same 16mm deployant model number of 94521613 (polished) purchased in Nov 2018 with a curve. See photos. I use it on a constellation (18 mm lug width) and it also works well on the 19 mm lug width of my FOIS.

Good you returned your clasp to the OB and hope it gets quickly corrected.

Thanks for the info, although I'm a little miffed now as I really wanted the 18mm clasp in polished finish. The OB told me that it doesn't come that way - only brushed or brushed/polished.
