Just saw a Speedmaser 20th edition watch for sale on a Dutch sales website. Is this speedy worth 8k? Personally I would buy a brand new Dark side or a vintage straight lug for that kind of money. Wondering what your opinion is?

I wish. I own this LE as it is my son's birth year and a nice keeper for him. While it is one of the first LE Speedmasters (after the impossible to find 1975 Soyuz) it is currently rather underappreciated and available for much less.

It's worth a little more than a vanilla moonwatch but not much. It's just that it's so similar to a non-LE so aside from the engraving it's not that different.

Haha I just received this anonymous pm on this forum :D

    Hello;

Please don't use my pictures of my Speedmaster 20th auction from Marktplaats without my permission...

Second, if you want to put it online for questions, then use a complete description, so the people know which version it is...

It's the GERMAN version limited to 250 PIECES. It's the complete full set with really everything. Not the USA or the Worldwide version...

Here you can find my eBay auction, complete in English

    http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/Omega-S...7?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_123&hash=item25a7e5f7e3

A few months ago there was one on this forum, the USA version in 2000 pieces. Only inner box, patch and box. Nothing more asking price 3900 USD. The other version for wordwide in 4000 pieces mostly go for 2-3000 USD.

I ask 8000 euro, just to make sure I can sell it at least for 6000 euro. Last month a seller on eBay sold the same watch with bracelet only for about 4000 euro on eBay, so with all the accessories I think it's worth at least 6000k, you can check it here, 17 people had bid on it

    http://www.ebay.de/itm/OMEGA-SPEEDM...27?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item20fb0c4f53

There's also one on eBay for 11 000 euro, watch and bracelet only. So please don't put my auction in shame on this forum, as there are other seller asking more than ridiculous prices then that I am... and that's for the watch, USA version and no accessoires only...

Would it not have been a better approach if owner/dealer posted here, included an introduction and a clarification on OP as opposed to that PM that really sets a not so desirable tone?

    Am I off base?

Alienating customers is rarely a successful sales tactic.

Haha now it is getting really funny ::popcorn::

Are you kidding me ? What kind of fucked up person are you, do you have any sence or respect for people ? Or do you have some kind of disorder or lack of decency that you don't know better. I have the right to contact you about this, it's mine watch, i'm selling it, if you can enjoy it to make it a disgrease so I can loose possible bidders it's my right to contact you about this. And what for a fucking moron are you to post that message in the forum, that's just voiding my privacy and making more fun of me. I will contact the admin of this forum and make sure it's all deleted, you fucking piece of shit. GET A LIFE.

Off course I know that making private messages public is not very nice..

However if I share a public advertisement with my own opinion when I receive such stupid messages after sharing this advertisement I feel I have to share them..

Me too but the reality ( pm aside) is that when you place an item for sale forums such as this one are a perfectly legitimate bar that legitimately can give an assessment. Not only there's a great eye for catching and reporting fakes but great deals are discussed and not so great deals are also discussed. The seller himself admits he expects way under the 8g and is perfectly knowledgeable of the prices that are out there for similar products; not surprising then that we and others find his initial expectations unrealistic. No need to get mad. He wouldn't be mad if he was a buyer and this thread saved him 2000 dollars.
