@Ree I'm still adding pieces to the collection and added a new one a few days ago. The complete collection including the new pieces form Ragan, Aldrin, Wiseman, and Rominger can be seen in my original thread in the Photography forum here. https://omegaforums.net/threads/spe...new-3-2-1-booster-ignition-and-liftoff.25887/ I'm working on a new display for the collection now. The Omega box shows 16 pieces nicely but the collection is at 20 pieces and I have 3 more in the works so the collection has quickly outgrown its temporary home.
Some collectors spend their days hunting for their ultimate grail watch, I've spent the last three years waiting for this moment. So this just happened.....
Hmmm, hands look pretty young, and appears to be wearing an X-33... so guessing someone somewhat current? Hadfield?
Hey @TLIGuy! We're waiting with baited breath to know the answer! :-D Oh and having gone and looked at some book signing photos of Chris Hadfield, I'm doubling down on my previous bet amount about who it is.
It does not get any grialier (my own word) than this one. Finishing off the year with a bang this happen yesterday. After years of patiently waiting two of my most elusive pieces are now complete. Even got a nice wrist shot....
The Joe Engle piece is now in the history books now so I wanted to share a few of the pictures from the signing. Sometimes I don't know what's better, the signed case back or the pictures that follow. These are some of the best I've received. Since his Apollo days Joe Engle is still a fan of the Speedmaster and was happy to show off his watch with the signed case back. One more grail piece yet to come for those still following along.
Un-Be-Lievable.... what a quest, what an execution. I salute you Awesome. Its a great idea, but actually to live up to the dream and make it happen.... respect.
2 Years in the making the grail piece for my collection has been added. This happen a few weeks ago as Gennady Padalka traveled through Germany and was kind enough to sign a piece for my collection.
