Good afternoon

I have a Speedmaster from 2005, that do not have the serial number engraved on the lug. So I open the watch and saw that the number is engraved on the 1861 movement.

I spoke with my AD and with the Omega Extranet my serial number does not appear. However the watchmaker from the AD saw the watch and it is 100% authentic.

What happened to the record? Gray market?

Strange. So the serial number shows up as nothing at all?

As I understood things (I could be wrong!) serials are added to the extranet as watches are made. So if this has been “sterilised” by someone, the movement should still show up.

If you ask @Archer really nicely, he may be able to check the extranet for you.

 

I can confirm that serial number 77101257 comes up as "No results found" on the Omega Extranet.

What's the origin of your watch? Where did you get it? It looks like the watch may be made up (hence no serial number on the case), but the movement should show up in Omega's database. Very odd. Sometimes legitimate watches/movements are absent from their database for some unknown reason, looks like your's is one such example, made even odder by the case with no serial number.

 

I do not think that year of watch had the serial number engraved.

 

I bought several years ago in Portugal from a man who deals with watches. It is very odd because the movement is legit and the previous serial number already appears in the Omega's extranet

 

If you mean on the lug, yes it would. Speedmasters with 48 million serial numbers have engravings on the lugs...I have one in my shop right now.

 

I have a 2002 Speedmaster Pro with the serial on the lug…

 

This probably won't help but, does it say 1861 under the balance? It doesn't look like that to me in the picture you posted - 1863?

Could you enlighten us regarding the name of the dealer?

 

If it doesn't show in the extranet, that seems a rather bold statement to make.

 

It does look like 1863. That's not a major issue anyway but, it would make me think it has been put together.

Just an observation - on my tiny phone, all the screws look untouched except for the case screws (that hold the movement to the ring) and the fine regulation screw. Normally, we try not to damage screws so, it shouldn't have left the factory like that but, I suppose it may have been serviced and the watchmaker did the movement build and someone else cased it and tried to regulate it.

I've never had such a recent model in to compare the fonts of the numbers. The highest serial I've got photos of is about 48.5 million. As long as you're sure about the fonts and spacing, then I suppose it will remain a mystery. Good luck.

Did you buy it in Lisbon? More specifically in Praca da Figueira?
