Speedmaster Mark III

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I've become interested in the Mark III recently, specifically the blue dial version, though the grey and black also have their appeal.

I was wondering, apart from the few images on Google, whether any owners here had pictures of the watch on leather bands rather than the metal bracelet. The picture is one of the few variations of a bracelet I've seen. Here for interest.

Just trying to get a feel for what the watch might look like when it's been personalised.

regards

I used to also wear this on a black leather rally strap but this is the only pic I could find on anything but a bracelet.

Love the blue MkIII 馃グ

Unfortunately I don't have one yet 馃榿

My experience with this big cases of the Marks is that, *in general* they look a lot more balanced on metal bracelets than straps.... but not later than this morning, someone showed a Racing MkII on a black tropic and it looked fab...

good luck with the search!

I *do* have a Nato that would fit but l'm still looking for inspiration. Tried a strap from Fullmosa and it would have been perfect if it was a little longer. I offered it up against a Barton silicon strap which i own that *does* fit and the Fullmosa is just too short.

I am no fan of leather. I wear mine on the Omega mesh and the linked bracelet.

To me both, the M III and the Flightmaster are to heavy to get properly kept on the wrist by taking leather or other straps.

Greetings from mine 馃榾

Thank you.

Still looking for strap suggestions, leather, sailcloth etc for the blue dial version shown in the first picture.

Perhaps folks have a strap that would work that's currently on another watch?

50 years ago.... 1974
Larger size Speedies were a favorite of Soviet cosmonauts when these Speedmaster chronographs were presented to them during an official delegation visit to Omega HQ Bienne - Switzerland in May 1973.
Since June 1973 we saw Omega watches on the wrists of cosmonauts and by the end of 1974 at least 3 versions made it into space (flightmaster, Mk III & Speedmaster) onboard Soyuz spacecraft. #Moonwatchuniverse

I tried my similarly cased Flightmaster on a few leather straps in never looked quite right on the wrist (looked OK laid flat off it) A steel bracelet visually balances it
