    Hi folks,

I'm looking to purchace my birth year watch (1973) and decided to go for Speedmaster Mark III.

Found one localy, but after some research not sure is it looks right to be a keeper. Seems to be over polished? And seller can't send the pictures of the movement. :-(

I used current link as guidance, but of course yours opinion and recomendations will have heaviest weight on the scales.

BTW whats your thoughts and any advices what to go for with the budget up to €2000 (Omega, 38-40mm, 1973)?

Here is some pics of the watch I'm looking for:

Check on Maddox web site, the rarest MarkIIi is the Blue dial with the grey inner bezel , and still in your budget.

They wear very very high...you'll bash it around on door jambs...certainly a statement!

i'm fully with you it's a challenge to wear it. Any owners feedback how comfortable watch sit on the wrist will help as well. :)

I'm not an owner, but i tried one on once and even with my penchant for 70's designed blocks of steel it was too much...I wonder if flight masters are as high?

    Four thoughts:
    1. That one is a redial, avoid.
    2. Mark IIIs are tall and wear taller. I am a huge fan of the design but don’t recommend it as a daily wearer.
    3. Maddox’s site is great but remember those conclusions were reached about 15 or more years ago, there’s better information out there now
    4. The Speedmaster 125 is what I’d recommend as a 1973 birth year Omega. It wears much better than the Mark III.

Thanks Andy for your reply. I could live with number 2 as for daily wearer I'm rotating my speedy with couple other watches, but as you mentioned about redial its definitely dealbreaker at this point. Thanks for that!
And I'm feeling that the best option will be hunt my grail here, on the forum :)
