Looks like a basically legit watch with an aftermarket crystal to me. I'm not 100% sure about the hands (at least the minute hand appears to be too long).

The case doesn't look good at all...

Here is a watch to compare crystal and hands:

I thought the case looked good, the brushing looks practically undisturbed. i’m trying to make a final decision so I would love a bit more insight.

Does the seller provide additional pictures of the case? Would be interesting to see.

Looking at the case around the crystal and how broad and uneven the rim is... I'd say this case has been rubbed down to death.

Here are some pictures for comparison with a NOS case:

Your photos are enlightening thanks. Here are more photos:

Yeah. Compare the chamfers...

If it was me, I would forget about this watch. 😉

Just a detail but what is that???

Both fixing screws are missing!

At least this detail is not relevant in this "case"... 😁

Humble thanks; this is not the first time you folks have saved me from a bad purchase. I had compared the example in question with the Hodinkee example which had sold some time ago, but I had not seen (chosen to see?) the discrepancies in case brushing, contours etc... The missing movement lock screws I also missed. Needless to say I will keep searching. I think these Mark IIs are good value overall.

Thanks again! Brad

The Mkii is good value and there are plenty out there. I speak from experience when I say best to hold out for a good one, having bought a couple of sadly well polished examples in the past. Good luck with your search.
Cheers.
