Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and thought I'd show some pictures of my watch, and if anyone has an opinion how the bracelet got their? I bought the watch New in 1974 and still have it, it has never had any service on it until Jan 21 when I had Omega do a full service. So everything is as I bought it from a small jewellery store in Frankston Victoria Australia for $200 AUD. The bracelet has been on the watch since I purchased it I know it's not the right bracelet for the Mk2 watch. But considering that I have never changed it how could this bracelet be put their by Omega? Sorry for the pictures I'm not a picture man.

Hi and welcome here!

Great looking watch with a first owner history (and nice pictures 😉)

According to this list

https://omegaforums.net/threads/fro...ge-seamaster-and-speedmaster-bracelets.45883/

a 1166 with 173 endlinks was no 'regular' combination on a Speedmaster 2

Most people on the forum say that bracelets were attatched to the watches not from Omega itself but at the point of sale by the dealers.

So most likely the dealer attatched it to the watch because he had it available.

My 2 cents only

thankyou for your reply, I was concerned it may have reduced the value of the watch.

Hi and welcome.
That looks very like the combination on my '72 Mark II that came from Germany.

As far as I can tell it is the convex curve version of the 1162, with the 173 end links.

Unfortunately, the clasp on mine was polished so highly that the press logo has lost all definition.

Yours looks good, with little signs of wear. There is often a lot of link to link wear that opens the gaps and makes it look fairly baggy.

But as has been pointed out, if it was what was fitted when it was bought, there's little worry on value.
