Speedmaster Hesalite 1836 Shattered Crystal -- Toronto

Hey everyone, new to the forums and seeking advice.

Had the pleasure of dropping my watch on tiles... and polywatch is of no use here LOL. The good news is that only the crystal was impacted and the watch runs without any issues and I don't see any signs of damage elsewhere.

After reading the horror stories of the Omega Toronto service center and the long wait times (4+ months seems to be the standard...) I don't want to send it in for a full service and just want the crystal replaced. What that be possible via Omega? Otherwise, does anyone have any local suggestions for watchmakers that can fix this in Toronto?

Thank you!

I believe Al Archer is in Canada and that would be my suggestion if he has any availability.

However, as the crystal has been damaged and pieces lost, you may find that many watchmakers will only replace as part of a service due to the risk that small shards of hesalite have entered the movement.

Isnt any watchmaker with an Omega parts account able to swap out that crystal for you?

So sorry that happened, but it could have been worse. If it had a saphire crystal you would have a cracked tile now!

Or just use a pice of sellotape, it wont affect the water resistance that much.

I actually have had good experiences with the Swatch Group in Toronto, although yes the wait times can be long.

I believe you can request to just have the crystal replaced, I have had them do individual jobs without a full service on occasion. Good luck!
