Speedmaster Grey side of the Moon vs Speedmaster Racing white dial

Due to the ceramic, the wider and taller watches (relative the Moon watch) don't wear as if they're too tall or wide compared to the equivalent in steel. I find they sit nicely in place as well due to the reduced weight of the ceramic, i.e. Less wobble on the wrist.

Agreed, I also don’t find the steel 9300 to be over sized on the wrist, and have never had an issue when wearing a shirt with one. Photo of the GSOTM for reference.

You can always ask your tailor to widen the watch wrist cuff when they’re making your shirts if you’re worried ::rimshot::

per the OP prompt, I found the ceramic lighter weight to make the size much more wearable on a smaller wrist. I love the stock alligator strap but have had a hard time finding a suitable 21mm option for smaller wrists with the deployant. standard Omega cordura versions are longer and won't work for me. Too expensive to buy OEM options and try to resell if they don't fit. No boutique local since the pandemic hit. Wish a titanium bracelet of matching color was available for the ceramic.

I have the grey side and the racing black/orange. I feel the weight difference immediately. My racing accepts bracelet and leather straps with more ease than the grey side. If I had to choose between the two I would lean toward grey side! Love the dial. Just been serviced so I have new hands, pushers and crown. Love it!

why were those pieces replaced already? seems early, particularly for the hands...

I had it serviced because it was losing time within 24hours, even if I manually wound it “full”. I brought it in to the boutique, the tech tested it and experienced the same issue. It is a 2017 model and out of warranty so I had to pay for the repair. Full service is the only way to go from OB. Long story short, I believe when Omega disassembled for service, they must remove the hands and they replace them as opposed to reinstalling the old set. This isn’t an issue for a modern piece. Crown and pushers are done to update the seals and water resistance. Hope that explains it.

This model has a 5 year warranty, though...

Thanks for the info. As an owner I feel like it never quite meets the power reserve and recently noticed a little grinding at times while manually winding the crown. Never quite know if it's my own neuroses, though...

I love my GSOTM, and I talked my way into a 12% discount at the boutique.
The ceramic deployment clasp (if you choose that option) is also great. Wore it almost daily about 8 months (before pandemic hit) and it has 0 scratches.

The watch as a whole still looks like new, and my strap is still in great condition. I do avoid wearing the GSOTM or days where its pouring though, to lengthen the life of that strap.

In addition to the many other good features of the GSOTM that others have noted, I would just add two words: Lumed Crown.
(Plus a gratuitous extra lume shot)

It doesn’t have a five year warranty if it is a 2017 model. The five year warranty applies to watches bought Summer 2018 or later...July if I recall correctly. And it’s not this model, it is all Omegas bought after that date.
