First test was +25 seconds over 24 hours. I can return for free. Should I test again, return it or just wear it and not care? $750 more for a servicing this year is not in my budget. Thanks in advance.

It's a used watch, always plan for an overhaul in a watch that you don't know its service history. We can't answer your question without knowing price paid, age and condition.

Have you been wearing it during those 24 hours?
I'd probably give a couple more days of wear, before returning it depending on the return window from C&C.
Age and condition (as well as description in the ad) of the watch would also have an influence on my decision

Visually stunning, $2850 hesalite pro from sometime after 2010.

The crown also has significant recoil after the first 10-20 winds.

$2850 + the $750 you’d pay for a service would buy you a brand new Speedmaster from a grey dealer.

However - have you tried demagnetizing it? Do you keep it near your computer/tablet/phone/ TV?

I've bought from C&C. They service the pieces before they ship so this is on them to resolve. I don't understand why you would post like this without giving them a chance to make it right.

I’m not mad at them. Just wanting advice. They didn’t sell it to me new. I knew it was used. Just trying to decide what to do.

Call them and send it back. They also have a warranty.

They offered to service it, return it and let me ask for a refund if I still wasn’t satisfied. They said their records indicate it failed their tests when they received it but one of their 4 “Swiss trained” watch repairers “regulated” it and then it passed. They said it was probably magnetized and that is the problem. I did a test with Lepsi and my watch came back as non magnetized (iPhone app). The app definitely registers a very weak magnet with a very high score but found zero magnetism with my watch. Needless to say I’m disappointed with my experience but don’t believe that Crown and Caliber is incompetent or untrustworthy. I’m opting for refund

Up to you, but if they are offering to fix the watch for free, why not let them try?

Because they ‘fixed’ it already. I’m betting there’s deeper problems with this watch than in need of regulating. They don’t do full servicing. Fool me once.....

This situation is basically what is expected when one buys a pre-owned watch that hasn't been serviced.

Not according to them. They claim that 100% of their watches test between -5 secs to +10 when they go up for sale. They told me they buy watches with small problems and make them function “like new,” before they sell them.
