Hi!

I believe the watch is genuine. The reference should be 3310.10.00.

I would place a bet on production from 1988 through to the 1990s.

I haven’t seen that caseback before, so perhaps it’s aftermarket or from another watch.

As for the watch itself, I would hold out for another example. The caseback is an important part of the Speedmaster Reduced series as it has the serial number engraved on the back of it.

Not all reduced have the serial on the lugs. Only the later ones.

I’m sorry. I did not mention lugs?

Yes, I believe the newer Speedmaster Reduced have serial numbers on the lugs.

Thank You for the information!

I own an 18K Speedmaster, it has the no on the lugs. It is from the end of 90s,.
But on this one above I cannot find a number there!

With the reference no You provided, I could find this one..
Seems to have same kind of caseback...?!
What do You think?

Condition on the speedmaster in the pictures is not great, I know.

What are Your opinions about the reduced model and the bi-color SS/Gold ?
Are the gold parts solid or plaque/plated ?

Prices I find on the net for SS-only models seems same or even higher than the bicolor models...?!
I wonder why.

thanks!

Hmmm... this smooth caseback seems to be correct then. I found another example of the smooth caseback on the internet and it appears the serial number is stamped on the inside (image below).

Personally I’m not a fan of gold or two-tone in general but I can see the appeal for some.

I think all parts are solid gold, but I believe the crowns are plated at the very least.

With the values, it’s a bit like stainless steel Rolex. The stainless pieces are easier to wear and easier on the eye, hence the prices are higher due to higher demand.

Thank You !

two tone is on its way back, I believe!
I do like two tone metal watches, as it blends with wedding ring, cufflinks and other accessories in any metal tone, but still beeing decent enough!
My 18K gold Speedmaster I scarcely wear, due I feel it’s mostly too much for Daily, even business attire.
