Since I had these on my desk all at the same time I thought I'd photograph them for the forum to aid in the identification of correct parts, although I'll need the help of others to fill in the gaps.
I know the one on the left was fitted to CK2915's but until when I am not certain. These are very distinctive with a large nipple and a curved step around the edge.
The last one on the right is the current Omega service part.

I suspect the order goes something like this (from left to right): 2915/2998; 2998/105.003/105.012; 105.012/145.012; 145.022.

The third one is on my 105.003 below... don't think it has been replaced, but who knows ... Haven't seen a line-up of different dust covers as of yet. Nice puzzle :)

    ^ He doesn't buy Speedmasters anyway :p

This is actually interesting as my 105.002 came with its dust cap missing, stefan had to source a newer one but mentioned there were differences, now I see what he means.

Is it taken as gospel that pre-moon speedy's always shipped with dust covers? My Ref 145.012-67 does not have one, and I have no reason to believe it ever did.

Guess that makes you an Omega atheist?
Your dust cover (also known as an anti-magnetic shield) is missing.
    Gospel.

Yes, they always have them. You do know that they are inside the case, correct?

The movement spacer and screws in the Speedmasters do not connect the movement to the case as they do in many other watches. The two screws that are used only connect the movement to the spacer, and the spacer and movement are free floating in the case. The dust cover sits on the movement spacer, and the case back presses on the cover, which holds the movement spacer (and the movement) solidly in place. They are always meant to be there.

Now I have seen spacers that were tight enough inside the case that they did not move around, even without the dust cover holding it all in place via the case back, but that doesn't mean it should not be there.

    Cheers, Al

Good stuff guys, thanks for the education. Seems my watch lost its cover somewhere in the past (and yes, I realize its inside the case). Anybody have one of those gen3 (105.012/145.012) covers for sale ;-) Hey, I at least want a period correct replacement.

Sorry to revive a zombie thread, but the beautiful ba145.022 that @Spacefruit put up for sale got me thinking about a dustcover and movement ring I recently purchased in eBay. I didn't read the auction description well enough to realize they were gold in color, and was a bit surprised when I opened the package. ::facepalm1::

A bit of googling has confirmed my suspicion that the BA145.022 likely came with a gold (plated?) dust cover. Does anyone know of other Speedmasters that also had gold dust covers/movement spacers? The dimensions are spot on for a Speedmaster.
