Probably the same 2018 black & yellow Apollo 8 but with laser-ablated 3861

Meanwhile, the old DSOTM 9300 from 2013 is still chillin'

Will be 44 mm new Apollo 8 with new movement

all I want is a ceramic 42mm professional on ceramic bracelet

not too much to ask for 🙁
Agreed...wishing for 42mm or smaller, but it will be on the large side. I loved the original Apollo 8, so this one will be something to see! Looking forward to the first of many releases from Omega this year!

Given this somewhat elaborate itinerary, I'm thinking its more than just the one watch being released.. Seems excessive for the launch of a ceramic speedy (which have never sold well compared to the Moonwatch)

Pretty subtle change from a visual angle, but a big increase in price $10,700 ---> $14,300 (+34%). But that increase is right in line with the increase in the 1861 to 3861 standard Speedmaster. I will stick with my Apollo 8 which I bought at the original price of $9,750.

Now, where's the white dial Speedmaster?

True, but not as clever as Snoopy flying!
So 3600$ for a rocket miniature, and other subtle changes.
Ok, Omega.

It looks good. I'm iffy on how I feel about that rocket.

Snoopy is a rare combo of cartoon plus has historical significance to NASA/the moonwatch. The Saturn V rocket as a seconds hand just feels too cartoony.

Will pass.

The Ed White seems like a bargin compared to this.
I don't think it'll sell well.
Most people who like the design most probably got the previous one. And for the hefty price increase it's not worth the upgrade in my opinion.
Also kind of annoying that they re release a special edition watch.

Exactly. Anyone who was drawn to the previous version bought one, I don't see how this updated version at 34% more money attracts more people off the sidelines to buy one.

The old model just should have been discontinued, and nothing new. Lets keep it at that. Move along people. Disappointing.

100%
So many other options. They could've done a an Apollo 8 55th release with some sort of Earth Rise tribute.

Of course it was 44.25mm...giant sized watch for giant sized wrist people! I mean, it is nice but at a 34% increase? The Saturn V rocket is admittedly pretty cool, but man...you can't even get it on a bracelet at that price point. I'm not sure this one is going to sell that well...

For all the people carping about the 44.25 mm case, this wears small in black ceramic and with manual movement. Try it on before instantly dismissing it.
