I've been looking at a few 1970s Speedmasters on ebay and note that there is sometimes some variety with the distance that the upper and lower buttons protude out of the body of the watch. What effects this? Why does it seem to happen more with some watches than others? Is it anything significant/ expensive to worry about? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-O...es_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item2344a3b02cPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network (bottom button sticking out a bit) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H1421-Ome...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network (top button sticking out a bit) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Omega-Spe...soires_Uhren_Armbanduhren&hash=item566bf16659Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network (both buttons sticking out miles)
Same watch, same shoot, different angles Pushers all the way in: Pushers all the way out: Pushers completely hidden:
Actually having looked at the middle one more, you're probably right one pusher is lower, sorry I didn't see all the pics.
Many times I've seen pushers that were poking out so far the teeth were showing, or pushed in and obviously stuck in that position. Sometimes it's the camera angle, sometimes it's an indication of a potential issue with the pusher and/or movement. Good clear pictures from several angles are always best, along with movement pictures - obviously often not provided by the seller, so judge and act accordingly. "Buy the seller" is always good advice.
