I recently received my 220-bezel 145.022-69 back from service, and noticed its bezel was rotated just slightly to the left. It bothers me, so I removed the bezel, aligned it, and attempted to reattach it. It won't fit - no matter what I do, there will always be a small bit of the bezel that won't snap down, and it remains loose. I've actually already destroyed a case press die trying to press it on (the die cracked down the middle; it was cheap). The bezel is original to the watch, so I'm having a hard time understanding this. Does anyone know why this might be, and what I can do to reattach it?
The bezel was straight when it went into service a few weeks ago, so unless the case was swapped with the 145.012 I brought in at the same time (possible?) I'm not sure how it would have happened.
It's not the bezel, it's the watch. Other bezels won't fit.... Yeah, I'll have to take it back in. Was hoping to avoid it spending another week or two away. Fantastic.
Any recommendations for presses? Besides the industrial deal above. Something's up with this one I think. (2 in a row)
I always put the tiniest bit of Dow 111 around the bezel before pressing it in. Also have to make sure the bezel is perfectly level before pressing (just saying that for posterity; I'm sure you have it level).
Nah, it actually won't fit over the flange (as though the bezel is too small). However, I believe it's an issue with the case press (es). My 145.012 also had its bezel misaligned a bit, and it now won't go back on either - so I guess cheap eBay case press #2 is a failure.

Is there any need to remove the bezel during a service? Maybe it was slightly off before and you hadn't noticed it.
Definitely wasn't off before - I noticed it immediately. The crystal needed some polishing, so I'm guessing (hoping) the bezel came off for that!
It depends on what's being done. If I'm refinishing the watch I'll take it off, but unless I'm doing that (or replacing the bezel itself) there's really no need to.
Perhaps the bezel was damaged during removal? As in bent? Getting to fit tight just might be a problem if it was damaged! Why wouldn't you return the watch to whoever serviced it to have the adjustment done under warranty. Any resulting problem such as yours would be someone else's problem!
