They had one at the Omega Boutique (Royal Exchange, London). They were running a 60th anniversary Speedmaster event and had lots of new pieces on show.
Have you got your one now? Or have to wait until September? You are lucky to see one close up! It looks great on the photos
Latest post from watch collecting lifestyle can be found here... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.watchcollectinglifestyle.com/home/omega-speedmaster-apollo-17-45th-anniversary-tribute-to-gene-cernan-limited-edition-pictures?format=amp Interestingly it suggests a $9900 sticker price ??
Second reference I've seen now that the price is higher than what was initially suspected...$8700 for the SS version here: http://timeandtidewatches.com/hands...o-xvii-a-tribute-to-the-last-man-on-the-moon/ And this is from the website that ran the first ads on the piece after Basel which suggests they have an "in" with Omega on this one...if it's really $8700, I'm out.
I think the biggest problem with this LE is that it was released along side two extremely compelling options in the 2915 and the Speedy Tuesday. Any other year it might have been more of a hit but it just doesn't wow me like the others do.
@Ru4scuba The context of the blog post is important. It is an Aussie blog and they have the prices in Australian dollars. This would be around $6500 USD

May want to get on a list at a trusted AD...these LEs go quick and some boutiques were telling members they were already accounted for
It's one of those that wouldn't make a big deal if I get it or not. Already got a blue speedy with the CK2998 last year, and my deposit is in for the 60th Anniversary Speedmaster. So once all of the #ST have been delivered and accounted for, then I'll check back in with these. And if they happen to be gone, oh well.
