Yesterday a major Scandinavian Omega AD published this post on an online discussion board. The post is in Swedish, but I've taken the opportunity to translate it for you.

So what could this be?

Will we finally see a COSC-certified 42mm Speedmaster?
Or another limited edition that will be as sought after as the Speedy Tuesday?
Have Omega finally found some more "authentic" space watches?

"...Omega will release a historical detail..." sounds like "...Omega will release an information that is completely irrelevant to 99.999% of the worlds population..." to me.

 

Yeah it could very well be nothing more than that. I was just hoping that they'd release a new version of the Speedmaster Pro and now I really consider to wait a bit with purchasing a Speedy, at least until we know what Omega makes out of this.

 

I think it's related to the fact they found the very first 2915 Speedmaster ever with 001 in serialnumber which was delivered to sweden.

 

I didn't know that the first 2915 had been delivered to Sweden, but if they have found it I believe it to travel to the Omega museum very secure and insured.
However, I can't see how that will affect most Speedmaster/potential Speedmaster buyers...

Just speculated if Omega announces a LE Speedmaster with cal 321 inside.....

 

Rumour is that they're going to stop production of all Speedmaster models... 60 years is enough.


From next week they will only be producing digital watches that you can play the space invaders video games on.

 

Serial #s didn't start at 001 when the Speedmaster was launched there was watches before the Speedmaster

They are going to offer a training course to everyone who buys a hand wind Speedy pro. Moring session will be centred around "how do I wind my watch" it is thought that it will save silly questions on forums. Second session before lunch they will also explain the 50m depth rating and make each delegate jump in the sea and swim in their new watch, save al the questions will my speedmaster stand up to swimming". After lunch the sessions will be based on how rugged is my speedmaster ? they will take each delegate to the top of the Eiger and roll them down wearing their watch, at the end of the day all three questions will have been answered, one way or the other.

I would vote for Omega to produce a FWOTM except with a 321 cal and 100m water rating.

 

If ever something like that (321 Movement) would happen I think the announcement or teaser would come from Big Omega. With Petros (Omega Museum) posting what he did it most likely has to do with more new historical information being shared like it mentions.
