Speedmaster 3861 bracelet sizing

Is anyone between sizes with the 3861 speedy?

I just got the white dial and in the morning the watch fits great and about an hour later I need to use the micro adjustment for it to fit. So basically the best fit for me is with the micro adjustment extended.

I’ve also have used my micro adjustment so much in such a short few weeks that little half link is all scratched up which is slightly a bummer. Not a huge deal just dumb lol.

Anyone else in my shoes ?

When wearing my Speedmaster, 300M, or PO, I adjust the comfort setting in the morning and throughout the day as needed, depending on the air temperature or whether I am exercising, etc. Honestly, I am grateful for this feature and am not concerned about any minor markings.

Once a bracelet is sized I never need to adjust it, but I'm older and stuff doesn't expand or contract as much as you age. 😎

My experience is that I rarely use the micro adjust; I onLy have to use it if I am exercising in the heat/humidity during the summer, and then I usually wear the Seamaster. However, I also don’t mind if the bracelet is a little loose in the morning before my wrist swells. I know some people can’t stand that, so in that case, I’d expect they would use the micro adjust more frequently.

FWIW, Unclestraps does sell a “half-link” for the bracelet (really a 1.5 link). You might see if that helps. I tried it, but didn’t like it because the two parts are rigid and not flexible between the 1 and 1/2 link.

Yep, but I've just been leaving it loose rather than keep adjusting it.

Just your waist. It normally only expands.

As of right now I have just been leaving the micro adjustment extended and it’s a good fit. Should have just don’t that from the beginning and that little like wouldn’t be all scratched up haha.

I've had this problem: bracelet fits fine but I have to wear it on the extended setting. In the summer when I add another link it's the same.

Last week I received a 1.5 link which I ordered from Uncle Seiko. Problem solved! Bracelet now fits perfectly with the micro adjust closed and I can give myself a little more room if my wrist swells during the day. Uncle 1.5 links are not expensive but are great quality. Highly recommended.

Also, don't worry about the marks left by the micro-adjustment. Very soon you won't notice them at all - and I'm certain no one else will either!

Does the link look out of place at all cause it’s bigger then all the other links lol?

It does look different from the other links but it's tucked away by the clasp and I don't feel it looks massively out of place... the main difference is that it's new and thus not scratched up like the rest of the bracelet!

Oh man that doesn’t look bad at all! Is there a reason you put it in the 6 O’clock side vs the 12?

I haven't tried it in both positions but I reasoned that the 6 O'clock side would be less visible to other people. Also, the inner folded part of the clasp is positioned on the 12 O'clock side which might stop the 1.5 link lying flat against the wrist (see this Reddit thread ) But as I say, I haven't tried it on that side of the bracelet yet...

After seeing those photos it looks better on the 6 o clock in your photo. Was it the same install as the regular links?

Yes - very easy. The only difference is you have to use the little screws which come with the 1.5 link as the standard ones don't fit. But they give you a spare pair.

Awesome and last question - does the link flow with the taper of the bracelet ?

I don't entirely understand what you're asking - but the 1.5 link is the same width as the other removable links and so doesn't spoil the taper effect at all. Only the height of the links is different.
