Ha ha ha ha, that's awesome...so they actually DID do it, a few hours (about 2) after I edited the title of this thread and my original text (21'st July 2019, the day after (GMT+1), but no doubtedly the evening of the 20th Houston time, another great nod), whilst we slept ...well played Omega, well played.

And it sure is a looker...first 321 with a display caseback.

Now that to me is stunning. I love the simple dial with no silly images. Meteorite sub dials is nice, and the overall look is excellent. No price announced yet, but this looks like a winner to me.

I agree - nice that they didn't use too many gimmicks on this one. If they do come out with a steel version, hopefully it will be even cleaner (by that I mean no applied markers, special dial materials, etc.).

I wish they made a blue Soleil dial for the SS version. No other gimmicks needed to rip the money out of my hands...

EDIT: to clarify...
This guy.

Unfortunately no double-likes.

Or red/black/white racing ... would start laying organs on the table ...

50 pieces only...and hope I’m quick enough to get one...

The beauty of a Speedmaster is it’s simple symmetric dial layout. Simple things like AML do a lot, there’s no need for faces, symbols or pictures. Just KISS...

so what could be the reference case of this new 321? i dont think it is 003 or 012, being newly designed.

Not sure what the question is, but for this one, the case (and caseback, and pushers) are a clone of the 105.012 (via CT scanning).
For the cal 321 movement, they CT scanned Gene Cernans 105.003.

So that tells me that they have a CT scan of a 105.012 and 105.003...which includes the cases, casebacks, pushers, and movements. There is thus no reason why they had to scan the 105.003 for the movement (as it has the same generation of 321 as the 105.012)...thus...

No reason they had to "scan" any of it...
