$600..That guys a scumbag. He’s worthy of naming and shaming. Crown, pusher and a service and you have an even more valuable piece. Your floor per Speedmaster 101 is $8k. I’d show this to RGM in Mt Joy PA. As well as the others mentioned.

I thought Ridley was only Rolex now.
I believe Philip works on both Omega and Rolex, but, I could be wrong.... always best to call and ask.
Does amazing restorative work.

This is a very rare watch. It was made in the first half of 1953 before the move to Geneve, that is verified by the dial face. Still functions, but isn't accurate at keeping time.

I recently took a Omega Speedmaster 2998-5 and a Breitling AVI 765 produced in the first half of 1953. The Speedmaster is not in good shape it doesn't run, one of the push knobs is incomplete and the crown is very worn or unoriginal and comes off. I believe it is the Tropical version, not sure. I took both of these watches to a local watchmaker he threw up a red flag when he said they may be worth $600.00. I decided I didn't want him to touch the Breitling but I would leave the Speedmaster because of it's condition. Well when I went to get the Breitling he said take them both that he didn't want my business. I would like these repaired with OEM parts and by someone who won't fu%# them up. My goal is to increase there value not destroy it. Any recommendations on a serviceman?
Thank You
Hello all
I am overwhelmed with the response I have gotten about this watch. I have a watch that has been in my drawer since 1987 that belonged to my Grandfather that I can't find any information about. Thank You All
