·I like your choice of the JB/Forstner mesh band. They look great, adjust to any size, and are very comfortable. I have used one on my 2998-4 (and most other Speedmasters) for many years and have never wanted to change bands. I've worn dozens of JBs and contrary to what you might think, they are very durable and dependable. I've yet to have one fail while being worn. I can't speak to the repro Forstner bands, though.

·wowzers! A 2998-4. I would put it right back in the safe. But if you are going to wear it plenty of 19mm straps out there and you can get a generic Omega deployant clasp fairly inexpensive. Or just buy an Omega strap and deployant new or used. It's a 39mm watch, will look great on a quality strap.
