Dear All,
Since being a member of OF I am trying to learn especially about the Speedmaster watches. I must admit I am not yet up to speed (!) .. very difficult to find one's way thru the unlimited numbers of models, to see the differences between a nice vintage and another that was mickeymoused ..😉
For example, here is a Speedmaster from 1967, Don bezel, cal 321, ref 145012-67, that seems to me in good shape.
The seller wants 8,500.00€ (10,115.00USD) for it .. compared to many similar threads, it seems very reasonable .. no ? To be clear, I have no intent whatsoever to buy this watch (over budget for me 😟) Here is the link to french sale post on CdA, should someone be interested :

Some pics :

I would be interested to hear your opinions !
Thank you for your attention,

Difficult to judge about the lugs, pics quality is very low for this amount of eur... I don't understand sellers who dare that. But it's another debate...
Bad crown, didn't check the serial, DON is quite good except the big crash at 6h. So, a little bit overpriced to me...

Agree with the above, pictures aren't good enough to judge about the case...

Does anyone have an idea about the nature of the stains surrounding the tritium indices?

The “stains” are most likely stabilizer used to prevent flaking/decay of the lume.

I should add that sometimes a residue around the markers can also indicate a relume, but this looks more like stabilizers I have seen on other dials.

Good crown actually. Transition from flat foot to B2, 32 point, wide logo crown began with 145.012-67

Mmmhh. Yes!. I fully agree on the fact that a 32teeth is possible.
But "less probable" with drop shape chrono hand when one speak about transition models.
I just point this small potential incoherence...
I would prefer a flatfeet crown-drop shape, or 32teeth-modern hand...
But I agree it is "my" preference...😁

Interesting, I often wondered what that is. You see it often enough.
