Speedmaster 1498 bracelet on Seamaster Pro 2054/2254?

Hi all,

I've been in the market for an SMP 2254 for a few months. Recently I've gotten a line on a nice, well priced 2054 which is the Bond bracelet version of the 2254. I don't mind the Bond bracelet, but prefer the Speedy style bracelet. I also own a Speedy Pro which came on a 1498 bracelet with 840 endlinks. Rarely do I where the Speedy on the bracelet, as a prefer it on a vintage leather strap. So, my questions is does anyone know if the 1498/940 combo will fit on an SMP 2054? I've read that the newer 1998 bracelet fits as long as you source the correct endlinks. Is this also true of the 1498?

I think will work with 930 ends

I don't know if this helps but I have fitted a 1610 bracelet with 930 end links to a speedy pro with no problems.
Ergo, as the seamaster bracelet fits the speedmaster case, I don't see why it shouldn't work the other way round.

Thank you both for your responses. Everything I’ve managed to find on the net suggests the bracelet will fit. If I end up with the 2054, and manage to fit the 1498, I will post back here to confirm.

Hi tomatopotato,

I ended up missing out on the SMP 2054. A month or so later I ended up buying a Planet Ocean 2201.50 instead. So, I never got to confirm whether or not the 1498 with 840 end links from my Speedy Pro would fit the SMP. All the research I did suggested it would, but unfortunately I don't have a definitive answer. Sorry.
