A friend has asked for my help in sourcing a birth year watch for him - he was born on 11 August 1978, so it's a bit tricky as quality watch brands were in full on retreat from the quartz crisis, with some notable exceptions. I've talked to him about Speedmasters and he is interested in getting a -78 (or a -76 with an extract that shows it was delivered in -78, I suppose).

If anyone has one they're thinking of parting with, then I'd be interested to know... given that he doesn't need to buy* for another 6 months, there's a decent amount of time to devote to looking...
