    Hi again!

Today was a new opportunity to come to a Speedmaster Professional. I was offered a 145.022 in, I mean, nice condition.

I think everything about this watch is believable except for the bezel. It is a new one mounted and I would probably replace it with a B2 DNN.

I suppose it will not be easy to find a suitable bezel and if I get one, it will surely need to be adapted by the pro. What amount do I have to calculate for this?

Do you notice any other inconsistencies? What would be a realistic price?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Looks original to me except for the bezel, case had definately been polished. Do you also have an outer caseback picture? What is the asking price?

Correct bezel wil set you back a couple of hundred bucks, depending on the condition.

Thank you! What do you mean with couple of hundred? It could be 300 as well as 900. :)

Caseback has no more black writing, so I agree it's polished. But looks well to me. Bracelet seems to be an old original 1171 as well:

    Price is actual at $4.000,00.

The photos are low resolution, so it’s hard to adequately visualize the dial and hands. But if they’re clean and undamaged, the $4k ask is reasonable, IMO.

A nice DNN bezel might run between $500 and 800.

I’d try to get it for $3.5k if I were interested.

Have you checked Speedmaster101.com? There is good pricing info there. Look at 'good' and subtract a $300-$400 for bezel, knock off a few hundred more due to the polishing, and add $300 for bracelet. That should give you a decent idea of the value.

    I’ll speak the heresy:

Increasingly, it feels like Speedmaster101’s chart is high, at least to me. As the market is softening, it seems like what’s moving is moving for less $ than the predicted amount.

3.5$ sounds about right to me, assuming it doesn't need to be serviced soon.

I have already asked the provider for photos in higher resolution and will show them here as soon as I have them. At 101, "Good" is at $ 4000.00. So realistically, this watch will be something between $ 3000.00 and $ 3500.00, I think.

    Seller description:

The watch is in good condition according to the age. The housing is in a used condition. The Hesalite glass is almost scratch-free. The omega symbol of the glass can be seen very well on a picture.

The mechanical chronograph movement runs flawlessly. The factory functions including the zero setting of the chronograph hands work perfectly. The course deviation is + -3 seconds per day, the amplitude is 270 degrees.

Nice watch, there is a DNN for sale here on OF for $750 to give you an idea. I imagine, $3.0- $3.5k would be reasonable. You could sell the modern DNN for $200 to off-set the cost of the B2.

    Best of luck.

Thank you! Just found a offer of a DNN. Only wondering about sellers statment it should be from a 80-90s Speedmaster. To me it looks like the correct one 69-78:

The modern bezel on the offered watch seems to be damaged at 135 as well. So i doubt it is sellable.

This is correct for the ‘74.

There is always a market for bezels, damaged or not.

A good bezels going to be 500 or more unless you get lucky. The one shown above is correct serif DNN.

3,500 would be my max personally unless proof of recent service.

Dial and hands are correct. Case is average... Correct 1171 bracelet... ok 4K might be fair. But I’d want to see high res natural light dial and hand shots to confirm the lume.

Dial and hands look great! I think you have all the input you need at this point.

    Go make it happen.

    :)

I have doubts concernig the brushings of the sides at the case....

Through this thread, I'm also in contact with a nice forum member. He offered me a 74ST with the right Lunette, also an old 1171, the archive excerpt and the casket at a fair price. I will take these. We just have to settle the handover, then I will post the result.

Thank you very much for the competent advice!

Fantastic outcome. Dealing with a valued forum member is a lot better. Either way, you’re approaching it the right way by doing your due diligence.

I know that this watch isn't being considered for purchase anymore, but a modern bezel does not fetch $200. There was one here that sat for weeks at USD~$80.

Unless I'm wrong on pricing or this bezel is not modern proper?
