Hello,

I've bought an old speedmaster 145.022-69 or 71 and it looks like it's in a very good condition. Maybe too much...
The seller told me that the watch had only a service in the early 80s, and that nothing has been changed.
It looks like it stayed a lot in a box since.

- The case is sharp, brushed and glossy, looks like unpolished to me.
- The DNN Bezel is a little faded. Nice patina.
- Crown and pushers are originals
- The glass is with the old omega sign and looks like original
- The bracelet is a 1171/1 633 ( service in the 80s...)
- The step dial and the hands have a yellow lume. Almost no light in the dark when I wear it. When I use my iPhone light (like 5 sec), it's a really strong and fade away then after a minute or two. I tried with an other 69 speedmaster (almost no light) and with my Tudor BB58 (strong light and no fade away).
Same thing about the hands.
- The mouvement is 28.42.XXXX (correct for a 69) and the caseback is 145.022-71. This is something unusual, I ordered an archive extract. I'll see...

My question is about the couple dial / hands. Is it relume for you or is it just normal after a long time without any sunlight?

Thanks!

Looks ok to me, and a (very) nice Speedy by the way 馃憤

that鈥檚 an unusual serial to see in a -71.

otherwise I like it

you may well have got a really nice 69 missing it鈥檚 back, for the price of a 71

I believe serial is too early for a DNN, should be a DON. But the dial and case are very nice.

I don't think the extract will tell you whether the movement is for a -69 or -71. It will just say 145.022. Wasted money I'm afraid.

As noted above, wrong bezel and case-back.

Correct. DON through about 30.5M IIRC.

I'm glad if the dial / hands are originals and not relumed.

I have some doubts too about the serial and the case back. The mouvement, produced in the era of an early 69, may have been use for a 71. I won't be surprised... Omega has done some weird stuff back in the time. In this situation the DNN and the case back can be ok.

I hope I'll have the extract soon to figure it out. The date of production may indicate if it's more likely a 69 or a 71 no?

The price was good, even for a 71, so if I have to change some parts, it will be ok and a nice and fun hunt!

Generally 28.42X.XXX is January 1970 so this is most likely a 145.022-69 with a swapped caseback and bezel.
Unless the extract comes back with a later production date for some odd reason then we could categorize this watch under "Anomaly -71"

Hi, I'll answer in English, as most people speak this language here.

At the beginning I was looking for a donor watch to restaure an old 220 bezel speedmaster my father gave me. I have a lot to change on it so I'm looking for some parts.

I've bought the watch in an auction website in Switzerland. The price was fine by me and my analyse of the watch let me think it was a risk I could take. The case looked perfect, the dial / hands too (maybe too much, that why I made this topic), the glass was an original one, pusher and crown were good, the bracelet was ok with the service in the 80s... My only interrogation was the serial and the question of a 69 or 71 speedmaster.
At the end, the watch looks great and I'm happy with my purchase.

I hope I answer your questions!

DM me if you want anything else in French.
