I believe this is another special watch and appropriate for the community, it is listed on our site currently also, continuing my stunning and quite rare original Speedmaster 145.022-68
As I know the community will be aware, the Speedmaster 68 was the first Speedmaster to feature Omegas new cal 861 movement whilst still retaining the DON bezel and dial featuring the applied Omega name plus several other traits from earlier Speedmasters
This configuration was only manufactured for a short period of time but as you know many have lost the bezel and or dial during services over the years and with DON’s in this condition now north of £2500 and the dial are over £1500 and in some cases a lot more, this is a special find in my humble opinion. This piece is in great condition with dial, bezel and the case retains its crisp edges. The movement is an early cal 861 with correct 27 milion serial number and looks and functions like new.The watch itself is only part of the story as the piece also has inner and outer boxes and papers. During the last nearly 50 years someone has replaced the bracelet so I have fitted this to a new old stock Corfam strap (with correct buckle) which sets the piece of superbly and is incredibly comfortable to wear.
Tom Dick has seen the watch in person, in fact he liked it so much he very nearly bought it and if his wife hadn’t popped in to the pub to say hi I think he would have done. Tom felt the watch was extremely original, very clean and commented that the dial, hands and bezel really made it stand out from the crowd.
This is an honest watch in original condition and a complete set, all of which are becoming increasingly hard to find for this model and variant.
The watch is being sold without mechanical guarantee although it is tested and working functionally and correctly, the movement is clean and completely original and I am happy to provide movement shots on request. I am also happy to provide the same warranty I do through my website.
I fundamentally believe in offering pieces of the best quality and at the right price
£6950
I am firm on the pricing of this one and whilst I appreciate it is not ‘cheap’, this watch has all the bits with it and retains its original dial, hands and bezel; it is a special piece. Interested parties would be welcome to speak to me on the phone about the watch, PM or or view the watch at our offices in Cheshire.
Many thanks Tony Wooderson
