An honest example acquired by me in 2015 and serviced at STS on document number T38434

Extract Shows delivery to UK 4 December 1967

Price is £10,500 Plus delivery (face to face in UK or elsewhere welcomed)

My current lighting causes considerable crystal "bloom" so i de-cased the movement so you can see the dial properly.

Dial is original, with very slight brown tint, often seen in this age, and in good condition. When examined closely under a loupe, it has a slightly dry, or granular look. This is typical of this sort of dial and gives rise to its pleasing appearance.

Plots are yellow, dirty and missing in some places.

Case is worn, possibly not polished as we can see the outlines, but the sides have lost most of the brushing. I really think this is an honestly owned and aged example.

The hands are a little dirty, but appear correct and original.

The dial lume glows strong then fades quickly. The hands stay strong for a little longer but both indicate tritium

Watch is let down by the (apparently original) bezel which shows wear. Another reason I think this watch is all original is that the bezel and case match. The bezel is worse than the case, but I would expect that as the bezel is more fragile, so on an original watch the bezel would get more damage. The price reflects this.

The crown is 32 tooth that MWO says is probably a service crown. Pushers look original to me.

The movement is excellent, and only one previous service before STS in 2015. All the screw heads are in good condition and the bridges match. It is a very good movement.

    Why am I selling?
I am slowly re-focusing my collection into a smaller number of finer watches. This watch is very attractive, but I have two much finer examples that I will keep, along with a much poorer one for beating around.

Price £10,500 Transfer to HSBC HK or Face to Face

    Why is it good?

The dial is very attractive, though not extremely fine because of those plots. There is no damage, but there is a very slight granulation that gives the dial its appeal. The case while showing wear also clearly shows the lines of the case. The case back is in very good condition. The watch is serviced and comes with an Extract of the Archives.

    What is wrong with it?
Well the bezel, while correct and probably original, has damage from wear over time. The case shows similar wear. The whole watch is simply naturally patinated - so nothing wrong.

    Delivery.

UK face to face is welcome, or I can ship in USA.
I am also about to pass through Bangkok and Hong Kong if anyone wants it there.
Just get in touch the Omega Forums Underground Railway (OFUR) will get it to you,

Notes on my position and ethos
I am not motivated by profit and so I have no reason to embellish or over describe. I sell my watches to make room for more that I have bought. I have been on eBay since 2002 with 100% feedback. I have bought and sold a few watches on www.OmegaForums.net and you can find my feedback by searching my username. I am the author of Speedmaster101.com and protecting my reputation is more important to me than selling off a watch. I am not a watch dealer, I make my money elsewhere, watches are my pleasure.
