I’m not trying to start a fire here. This is my Speedy. I have owned a countless number of them, at the end always ending up selling them. This one I will keep - mostly bc it is a classic watch with a history that will never go out of style. On the other hand it is not that exciting. So, for me it is other values rather than estetics that draws me to this watch.

What is your resons for having a Moonwatch?

Can you give an example of what watch you find "exciting"? something with more decorations/colors/more expensive?
I heard this argument in the past and usually, it was connected with the fact that Speedy is so popular, that sometimes you feel that everybody has one.

It’s probably the biggest strap king…. Have had it on probably 20 different straps and it always looks good.

(this isn’t my picture. But saved it years ago as liked the strap)

It's not exciting. It is a classic.

An analogy I would give you would be, the Speedy is like a nice bowl of mac and cheese.

Some people can eat it everyday. Most of the people cannot.
You would get tired of it if you eat it everyday, but you would also crave it once in a while.

Personally I consider it an essential part of every collection.

Would I wear it everyday? No.
Would I wear it to cleanse the palate once in a while? Hell ya.

If you enjoy losing money, I guess you can keep selling and re-buying it lol.

Omega should totally steal that! "Speedmaster -- like a nice bowl of mac and cheese! (tm)"

One of mine its a Tintin, which is like mac and cheese with ham added 😎 That makes it more like a meal than a side, so I can wear it every day.

Hmmm…I’m not certain about your analogy. Mac and cheese has the connotation of being junk food. Tastes great, low nutrition.

The Speedmaster is aesthetically pleasing to many, reliable, holds its value. I’m sure someone will come along and cobble together an apt car analogy.

Hey man, you are twisting my words.

I said nice mac and cheese. You are thinking Kraft Dinner.

The Kraft Dinner of watches would be... Hublot?

For me the association with the moon landings attracts me to the Speedy Pro! I’ve owned a number of Speedies and would (perhaps a bit arbitrarily) draw the line at a mid 1990s tritium 3590.50. I also like a Speedy with some character … also known as ageing!!

Lobster Mac n Cheese!

The NASA connection is what drew me initially, the balance, design, and feel on the wrist has continued to draw me in.

The speed master professional is a daily reminder of achievement. I applaud Omega for their restrained updates to the Moonwatch. The design is perfect. Enjoy!

Now we know where your watch money comes from.

....from eating only Kraft Dinner and losing your teeth from scurvy.
