Equivalent To A Rolex Oyster Bracelet For a Speedmaster?

Hi all

I have the latest Speedmaster Moonwatch, and I've realized I don't really like the bracelet. This is just my opinion, but I don't think it suits the watch. I think it looks kind of old fashioned. By comparison, I think the Oyster Bracelets on my Rolexes are fantastic.

Have any of you ever bought the equivalent to a Rolex Oyster Bracelet for a Speedmaster?

Thanks

Thanks. Unfortunately I looks like the Uncle Soyuz 1168 isn't compatible with the 3861:

Designed to fit: The 19mm is made for the FOIS (First Omega in Space) and the 20mm fits most Omega Speedmaster models (pre-3861).

Ouch! IMHO wear a strap; leather, rubber, sailcloth, or nato; the Speedmaster doesn't belong on an oyster.

Agreed. That high grade Rolex steel that's made by Swiss elves doesn't belong on a pedestrian Speedmaster. 😉

All kidding aside, I have seen some very nice aftermarket beads of rice bracelets and metal mesh bracelets that look great on Speedmasters. I would imagine that both are very comfortable to wear.

That's like putting Ford hubcaps on your Rolls Royce. 😉

The Speedmaster belongs on any bracelet or strap the owner wants on it.

Look at offerings by Forstner and Uncle Straps. There are several three link style bracelets to choose from. Forstner in particular has a bracelet very close in appearance to the Rolex Oyster with the added benefit that it has female end links. Forstner and Uncle Straps bracelets are not exactly on par with a Rolex or Omega bracelet, but they are of good quality for the money.

Also consider an Apollo 11 50th Anniversary bracelet.

What about a new 1171/633 service bracelet. I’m sure it will feel very much inferior to the bracelet it came with but it looks good.

For a more quality feel, you could try hunting down a 1450/808 but there’s no guarantee it will fit.

FWIW I love the modern bullet bracelet on the Speedmaster.

I thought the general consensus was that it's an excellent bracelet

Seems like the closest thing to the Oyster, design-wise, would be the Forstner Model O. I don’t think the Forstner bracelets are quite up to Rolex/Omega build quality (or Grand Seiko, for that matter), but they’re not priced that way, either.

I wear my cal 3861 Speedmaster on the standard Omega bracelet, although it did take me a bit of time to become accustomed to the somewhat extreme taper. I know someone who didn’t like the taper and wears his 3861 on a Forstner Bullet. Coincidentally, I wear my 3570.50 on a Forstner bullet, which I prefer to the Omega 1499.

I personally think that the closest analog is the Apollo 11 50th bracelet. Not because it looks like an oyster bracelet, but because a Speedmaster on a flat link is just as traditional as a Rolex on oyster.

This 100% for me.
