This would be perfect for @gemini4 to wear while shoveling snow: http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2018/space-and-exploration-n09897/lot.112.html
but, but... "COMPLETE GEMINI SPACESUIT WITH HELMET, GLOVES MADE FOR PETE CONRAD, AND BOOTS MADE FOR FRANK BORMAN, 1963-65" beware!!!! description clearly reads like a true Franken set!!
For that money I would rather have one of the Alaskas... Also, note the non - original boots. does that make it a Franken Suit for collectors?
@Spacefruit indeed a Franken David Clark Gemini era spacesuit... suit for X, gloves for Y and boots Z
The the boots were worn in space you'd risk exposure to cosmic ray mutated athletes foot fungus. Not a pretty thing if you're a fan of 60's British sci fi movies. Russian spacesuits show up on Ebay now and then, usually in good working condition. Trivia for today. In the pilot film for the "Men Into Space' TV series actual pressure suits were worn by the astronauts. These were high altitude experimental suits developed by the USN. Most likely for balloon ascents into the stratosphere or ultra high altitude recon flights. Later episodes used costume grade suits that resemble the escape/survival suits made for space shuttle crew.
Any vaguely complete US space suit in private hands is very rare, so depending on condition the estimate looks low to me.
This might interest the Snoopy Speedmaster collectors. http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2018/space-and-exploration-n09897/lot.154.html
Someone somewhere has gloves made for Frank Borman and boots made for Pete Conrad, and they’ve been waiting patiently for this day to come...
