Space-Compax Rubber Pushers: Maintenance

Hello, all you Space-Compax owners!

For all of you lucky enough to have a Space-Compax with original rubber pushers, what steps do you take, if any, to protect or restore the rubber?

Any rubber will deteriorate with age, so there are rubber-conditioning products available, mostly for automotive uses. Do you apply any of these to your Space-Compax? Do you apply any homemade solutions? Or do you just keep them clean and minimize use?

Thanks for the input!

If memory serves, @Diabolik is the resident guru on all matters crown and pusher-related on the Space Compax.

Sorry I can't really help beyond that but good luck.

Can't say if these are a good alternative or not but they are an aftermarket replacement that may workout if you decide to store and preserve the originals.

Not a bad idea, Watchcollect! I have looked at those but the pricing is outrageous for a couple pieces of small rubber. But not much choice if you have this watch and need 'em!

A collector told me I should used olive oil, could work for hardened rubber tops.

Many thanks! I had not thought of that but it sounds reasonable.
