It looks to be very nice - could use another or three more pics. Where did you find it? What does the vintage watch terrain look like in Milan?
Hi LouS Here you go ... with box, guarantee, manual and a UG buckle. Reference 881101/02 and serial number place it at around 1967 I got it from a very nice chap who I have been talking to on and off for over two years. He lives close to Bergamo. He is very knowledgeable on UG and has all the old catalogs with models dating to the very early 1920's up to late 70's. I was pretty surprised to learn that UG made so many different models! Also managed to get an upgrade for my compax ... and a heuer 2446C, very similar to the one I just sold with what I think is wrong dial / hands combination, but I am not complaining ...
That's the most audacious thread-jack attempt ever. And using Washington state plonk too. Diabolik, which COmpax are you planning a dial swap for?
lous, here is an image of my compax. Alberto (UG expert in erbora) has estimated it t o be a 1962 model. I am also contemplating removing the black paint of the second hand as it does not make any sense against a black or any color dial. I think it would look far better in steel (no paint)...
Dino, guarda che ora ti controllo.... Sgancia i seriali e la referenza del compax, se visibili Ti è piaciuto l'olio? Ciao A.
Hi Diabolik i posted already at the OTD Forum, so what a nice business trip to Milan. Im mainly into Heuer but do follow the UG-s and Zenith-s. getting more and more exited into UG. HAGW Gerald
Thanks, took a long time but eventually got there and it was touch and go all the way. Had I not got my skates on, it would have been broken up (head, bracelet, buckle and tropic, guarantee docs, box) and sold off by a money grabbing dealer in Milan and another bit of history would have been scattered through ebay. I love old Uni's, shame they are not appreciated. On a good note though the only way is up for 'em ...
