Some doubts about the dial of a ref 2767-5 sc

Hello everybody! I would need your help because I was offered an omega seamaster 2767-5c by someone for a IMO great price (330 euros). At first sight I thought that the watch must have been redialed as the first “a” in the seamaster scripts looks really off. But after focusing on the dial I realised that I might have misjudged the watch. So I made some researches and compared the dial of the watch I’m intending to potentially buy to some original ref 2767 dials found on google.

Here is the watch in question (my apologies for the quality of the pictures) :

  • Seamaster script from “my” watch :

  • Seamaster script from other watches :

On OF (https://omegaforums.net/threads/ome...stainless-steel-two-tone-dial-w-patina.90904/) :

  • Omega automatic script from “my” watch :

  • Omega automatic script from other watches :

On OF (ibidem) :

So I analysed one per one every letter from the dial and everything looks perfect to me except the aforementioned “a”. I also see darkened lume on the hour markers that match witch the dauphine lumed hands. So I would tend to say this is not a redial. But I might be wrong. That’s why I prefer asking here to be sure. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Greetings.

I think the dial looks original. If it was repainted, it was done very early in the life of this watch and done extremely well.

The minute markers aren't too even, that, along with the 'A' makes me vote for redial.

A good one, but not perfect.

That’s what blocking me.. I still have a doubt and don’t want to buy a redial. Even if it’s well done.

It's a rare Omega Sesmaster. 😉

Indeed it’s funny I didn’t saw it like this. 😁 Do you think it left the factory as “Sesmaster”?

I have to admit that I was wrong on this one and agree with JimimOz that it is a redial. I didn't look carefully enough at the minute track. Live and learn.

IMO that 2767 is perfectly fine.

It could be a crystal scratch that is distorting the text or it could be some unfortunate lacquer damage. I don't see the issues with the minute hashes - they aren't very good looking, but a dial with some patina can make the print look off, especially at 4x magnification. If it was a redial, I would be surprised that the minute hashes was the only tell.

€330 is a very fair price, even taking into account the missing hand lume, replacement crown and somewhat soft case.
