Hi everyone, I have an Omega De Ville Limited edition gents dress watch. It belonged to my dad, who passed away 14 years ago. I have some paperwork with it, one is the receipt from when he purchased it in 1995. There is a very faded fax from Omega in Switzerland stating when that watch, was sold in 1975, when highlighted it reads :

Dear Sir,
The Omega-gents watch with the following details:
case reference RSS389 TILL.8339
bracelet reference: RS Silver .925
calibre
625.hano vinding
movement number 3-7.205 974
was sold in 1975 to our official agent "SME (UK) ", Eas
and the price was SFL.970
The actual value for this watch today is sFr. 1800.
We hope this informations are useful to youand
ways at your disposition for any further questions.
But that dates back to when my dad purchased it.
There is an insurance valuation again for around the same time. The last paperwork was the last service my dad had on the watch just before he passed away.
I have spent hours and hours looking at Omega De Ville watches. I cannot find this one? I did find two from 1975, one has the same shape Face but the wrong way. The other has the strap. I have tried to get as much information in the photographs attached. I have emailed Omega but as yet I have not heard back from them.
I really am at a loss, I truly want to know more about it. Aswell as the value.
I attached the three photos are screen shots of one with the exact face, and the other two that I mentioned earlier.
It works perfectly and keeps brilliant time
Please can you help

Hey @Krazzy,

Welcome along.

I suspect the reason that you're not finding other examples, is because this is not a common Omega reference.

It looks to me like it's from the Jeux d'Argent line

That is quite an unusual case metal to see a watch made out of, I genuinely haven’t seen that before?

Hi @Krazzy, welcome aboard 😀

It is an unusual reference that are unlikely to have been produced many of and since it is not a style of watch that is in fashion today, no-one is likely to have done much research on them, let alone post it publicly. This could explain why you have a hard time diggin up information.

Value-wise you are looking at two different numbers; one for insurance purposes which is based on what a new, similar replacement would cost were you to lose this one and have to replace it, and a second for how much this particular watch would make if you were to put it up for sale. The latter is what we as collectors would be interested in. In this case I am afraid it is very low. A small, fairly worn, silver dress watch with an integrated bracelet from the seventies is about as far off what in demand at the moment as you can get, I am sorry to say. I would guess that it would be worth app. £100-150 in open sale.

It's a fantastic memento of your father though 😀
