Last serviced in 2011 - service crown and crystal. with genuine omega parts (so he says)

Congrats - given the last service was 9 years ago, it's probably due for another.

Since we are talking precious metals and white gold versions of Connies only surface infrequently, I thought I’d add this to the thread.

18k White gold 168.015 with 18k white gold Omega mesh bracelet.
Up for auction at Antiquorum Hong Kong.

👍well done, congrats - and now we want to see the pics when you get it!

It's the colour of the gold...

0N - green
1N - pale yellow
2N - light yellow
3N - yellow
4N - pink
5N red

This follows EN/ISO standards for the colours and composition of gold.
Cool info, thank you so much.
it would be great to see an array of watches with all of the color gradations because so many people nowadays claim «pink gold » and « red gold » completely frivolously.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a « red gold » watch.

The gold used in the Landeron powered, Chronographe Suisse watches has this very intense color. Much deeper red than a pink or rose gold. This picture does not do it justice.

Looked up which modern watches use 5N red gold and came up with this one:

thank you! Very interesting indeed.
However if the grade is not inscribed on cases or distinguishable via hallmarks for vintage examples it’s no wonder that sellers or others would be abusing the labels or mixing them up.
below are all watches randomly picked up from Ebay- all listed as « rose gold » or « pink gold », for some it’s obvious, for others more subtle, and for a couple eg #2,#3, and the last one, it’s frankly questionable...apologies for thread drift.

I would keep in mind that standards for gold colours didn't always exist, and not everyone uses them. Add to this that pink/rose gold can "fade" over time, and this can make things quite difficult. Some modern watches use alloys that have added metals so they don't fade, but that is a relatively recent thing in my understanding. And we haven't even considered lighting, which can play a huge factor in how things appear in photos.

A good friend of mine is a goldsmith, and he has remarked many times that different countries will have slightly different shades of even yellow gold. And often variations will exists within countries as well.

Here is a rose gold watch that looks nothing like rose gold in the photos but in hand it’s a striking rose gold colour

I see the rose gold description used for lots of jewelry that is not pink or red. The first Bulova tank in this thread is the classic color that I associate with rose gold.

Agreed, for me the only ones accurately described as rose gold is the top Bulova and the Omega caliber 267 which is #4 of the pictures I posted.

I love this set! The dial is beautiful and the vintage strap and buckle match perfectly. I have 2 of the silver and black, plastic boxes from this era and they stand up quite well.
