Solid 14k Constellation

Hello Gang.
I recently let go of a stainless 168.015 constellation and almost instantly came across this 168.015 in 14k solid gold.
It has a price tag of $800 CAD, which is a few hundred less than the stainless version went for.
It has a cal. 564 and is said to be running well though, the service history is unknown, therefor, it will need one.

I know these are of the less desirable cases when it comes to connie collectors however, the price seems good and i wanted to get some other view points.

To me, the dial looks good and the case looks slightly polished. It was the crown that sort of made me wonder if it was a replacement. It looks different from the one my stainless version had. from different angles it looks like it was more robust, but from others, it looked original.

So, im wondering, what do the members of OF think of this version, does it seem reasonable with an $800 CAD price tag.
The bracelet it is on in the photo is not included.
Sorry for the photos, thats what was supplied to me.
Thank you all.

If someone wants me to hand over a grand, I'd want pictures I could use to evaluate.

it is linen dial and golden in color, that's about all I'm positive about

I can’t tell much from these pictures. Also, I’ve never seen one of this reference in solid 14K gold. Are you sure this is solid gold and not gold capped? The solid gold versions have a different pattern of stars around the observatory.

It is possible that the crown is a service replacement, but the crowns for this reference do not fit any other Omega case.

If the box is included, and the solid gold content checks out, this is an absolute steal for US$612 at current exchange rates. Even more if local GST is included.

Good luck with purchase.

I was wondering that my self, no hallmark or stamp is visible.
Yes the box is included.
I am really only interested if it were to be solid gold.

Thank you for your advice

Update:
The store owner says he absolutely guarantees that "it is solid gold, not capped, not plated".
Not that, that really means much i guess.

This example online is being sold as solid "18K" and i see no hallmarks on the case back.

I would assume the gold capped 168.015 cases would look like this ? with a SS case backing ?

I think you have to decide whether the seller's guarantee of "solid gold" is good enough for you. Personally, if so, that would do it for me, proper crown or not and notwithstanding the need for service.

Without a usable dial picture, still a bit of a crapshoot.

depending on the ref, and era, it is whether the observatory has bricks or not. then confirm inside.

but some countries required an outside stamp to indicate solid gold.

None of these have bricks on the observatory.

What gave me pause is that you cannot see the reference number on the outside of the case. The engraving on the solid gold models is quite deep, while on the steel ones it is much shallower.

It could just be the lousy pictures. If you can get a return privilege and get your watchmaker to check it out, then probably worth the gamble.

It’s just so tough to say what this is without clear pictures. I think the dial is a legit variation.

Hope this helps,

18k 2N yellow gold

18k 3N yellow gold

18k white gold

14k yellow gold

14k yellow gold capped

14k pink gold capped

Stainless steel

Hey Arch,
What's difference between 2N and 3N?

It's the colour of the gold...

0N - green
1N - pale yellow
2N - light yellow
3N - yellow
4N - pink
5N red

This follows EN/ISO standards for the colours and composition of gold.
