This elegant UG from the mid 40's needs a new owner.
Original radium dial and blued steel sword hands is in wonderful condition.
No relume here , there is a pic of the radium glow below.
Made for doctors to measure patient's pulse, this particular dial on Medico-Compax is the rarer version with a wide pulsation scale printed in red, as well as the small subdials. No service history, all functions work perfectly, chronograph is very crisp. The watch measures 35mm excluding crown. Triple signed Universal Genevè on the dial, inside caseback and movement.
The case is 14K gold and has signs of wear and patina comensuate with its age. The hallmark is still visible.
The movement is the UG 285 marked "Hox" , which indicates it was sold through the Stern agency in the US.
The watch comes with spare spring bars and the strap shown in the last pic .
As expected there is no box or papers long lost during its obviously gentle life.
A piece of history can be yours for $4800. US included shipping.
OBO.
