·Hey guys.
I decided to part with a chronograph from my UG collection. I have many watches from this brand (my favorite brand) and this doesn't have considerable wrist time, so I think it's time for a new owner to enjoy this vintage beauty.
At the same time I noticed a lack of nice UG chronographs here in the sale room recently, so I think it's a great opportunity for other collectors to buy a nice watch -not so easy to find- in total security.
Anyway, for sale my Universal Geneve Uni-Compax ref 52402 for the American market.
Case is made in solid 14kt gold (the first digit of the reference, 5, stands for 14kt gold) and measures approximately 35mm excluding generic crown. Its shape is very elegant and minimal and imho it's a great design for an everyday gold chronograph. A lug is a bit bent, but nothing serious.
285 in-house calibre was serviced 2 years ago and is fully working. Movement has HOX engraving, it's typical for movements shipped in USA.
Dial is original (of course!), and is very appealing. Originally silvered, now more warm, because of the lume (original as well) still present. Indexes style is very cool imho, as you can see. Mileage scale is present - again, it's pretty clear this watch was made for the american market.
Overall condition is just great. I really like the combination between the warm tone of the dial and the cold tone of the 14kt yellow gold. It's just appealing and unusually cool.
Serial number dates this watch between 1946 and 1949.
Price: for this little jewel I would like to have 2400€ plus shipment. I think it's a fair price for a nice, appealing and unmolested UG chronograph from 40s, day after day more scarce.
Payment with bank wire of PP friends and family.
Me and watch are located in Italy, I have dozens of positive feedbacks to provide, tou can buy with total trust.
I tried to do my best to shoot some pretty pics of the watch, please let me know if you need some close up or anyway some other general pics.
Cheers
