I dated this watch using the "date your IWC" website which appears (!) to be back up and running. For you folks who have never seen this website, it's pretty handy.... http://www.moeb.ch/dyIWC/ Looks like this one was produced in the mid 50's. Which makes sense given the first gen. 8521 calibre. This watch is near NOS. Perhaps worn less than 5-6 times. It was a much loved piece in my IWC collection which I was too afraid to wear given it's condition. Now selling the collection, so time to let go.. Movement: first gen. of the cal. 85 series and relatively uncommon. looks untouched. Case: near mint with perfect and intact factory brushing. nice big case size (for a dress watch of that era) at 36.25mm without crown. no scratches or scuffs. a few tiny dings that I noticed on the high-rez macros and invisible to the naked eye. original factory case back film protector still intact! Hands: excellent Dial: flawless with very rare raw silk texture that runs horizontally. I've seen silk textured dials before from IWC, but usually in a vertical configuration. A truly stunning dial which sets this piece apart... Strap and buckle: OEM and very lightly used. Please don't hesitate to ask for more details or pics. Just reduced to $4500 ONRO based on rarity and condition. PP friends or bank transfer OK. Fedex/Parcel pro to lower 48 is on me. Overseas will split with buyer. The buyer will not be disappointed. This is an exceptional watch, with a very uncommon and fine dial.
