·This was purchased at auction years ago and rarely worn as I did not wish to add scratches or swirls to the near mint case.
From the "date your iwc" site: "The movement is a calibre 89, dating from the year 1955.
The case was most probably produced resp. delivered around 1956."
As the pics show, the watch is near mint.
Dial: Mint to the naked eye. A few dots of oxidation and a tiny mark of two that can be seen under loupe. It has a "raw silk" texture in a horizontal pattern (not as pronounced as the other IWC watch I have listed) which is somewhat rare and quite beautiful.
Hands: excellent
Case: Large (for the era) 36mm case (w/o crown) unpolished with perfect factory bevels and brushing. a few superficial scratches and swirls, but in amazing shape overall.
Movement: looks clean and untouched. keeping decent time but please assume it needs a service as I do not know if one has ever been done.
Strap: custom Horween shell cordovan strap and an OEM buckle are included.
$2500 ONRO.
PP friends or bank wire. Fedex/Parcelpro to lower 48 on me. Overseas will split with buyer.
Thanks OF
