Folks, I know the previous thread was eventually closed as some members went into overdrive against each other.

Not seeking to reopen that type of discussion.

Was just browsing Craft and Tailored’s site and realised that the said watch has been sold? Also, it appears that the price had been lowered to $46k (from initial $75k). This is just my hypothesis as the price of $46k appears on the watch as it’s price tag when you click on the link. See screenshots.

Maybe the watch will show up here or somewhere. And the new buyer can share his thoughts! Especially if any direct provenance has been provided to the buyer.

Let’s face it, there was no provenance associated with this watch. None was ever produced on previous thread. No ties to Castro or Portillo other than collage of pictures lifted from the net and copy of Time magazine that didn’t add a single shred of evidence.

This was an extremely poorly marketed watch by 2 supposed premium sellers (one even has a beautiful GMT page from what I hear.)

Even at $46K this was an overpriced watch. It could have been purchased for much less from previous owner.

All I have to say is, buyer be aware. There are plenty of good sellers on OF where most honest transactions take place from private sellers.

I’m a NYker at heart ie truly do understand cynicism; although, when character is called into question .... that kinda seems a bit much. This community isn’t buying a watch at the price when we have access to other non-commercial sellers here in OF

The watch was overpriced and without no real provenance, let's face it.

No matter what Mr.Eric had done previously, what happened here wasn't ok, and I don't think we need any censorship on Omegaforum.

All - I was just pointing out that the watch had been sold (as shown on C&T). No words were said against Eric. In fact, I appreciate how he took to the previous thread couple of times to address queries and even offered to speak on the phone with some members.

Given the publicity this watch has had (including Hodinkee’s bring a loupe), perhaps best Eric @georgetownhoya can confirm if indeed the watch has been sold?

If no, was it withdrawn or still for sale?
If yes, was any provenance provided directly to the buyer?
