Never seen snow measured in mm before (cm or m, inches or feet when I'm in the US, but never mm). Is that a lot of snow for you guys? I'm guessing so since you are measuring it in mm.

    Cheers, Al

Yeah that's only because he got a huge snow fall, he usually gives us a report in Microns or whether there is frost on the Hounds back. :D

If there's one type of man in the British Isles who knows how to measure snowfall, it's a Scotsman !

Not a lot of snow Al,
In my line of work all measuring is in mm although I admit I can revert to imperial at the drop of a hat.

If you you see a kilted Scotsman walking on tip toes you know the snow is deep :)

Well Canada is of course officially metric, but since I worked as a project engineer for a US based company for 23 years, pretty much all the work I did there was in inches. The only exceptions were when we had drawings from one of our plants overseas - from France for example - not only metric but first angle orthorgraphic projection - felt like I had to stand on my head to read a drawing...

Of course in watchmaking is mostly metric, with a few "lignes" thrown in there to confuse people, as well as odd American things like Dennison mainspring sizes.

Anyway all the snow here is gone again, but they are saying more on Monday maybe.

Looking forward to some warmer weather, and having lunch on the back deck again.

    Cheers, Al
